Into the Well: 100 Miles. 32 Hours. 200 Racers. tells the story of personal endurance. An excruciating test of how far one is willing to push themself to accomplish their goals. Follow three West Virginians as they prepare for the first 100-mile ultramarathon in the New River Gorge National Park where they'll take on a challenge far greater than they could ever have imagined.

Scripting: 

While the documentary embraces the spontaneity and unpredictability of the ultramarathon, a loose script was developed to ensure key narrative beats were captured during filming.

Location Scouting:

Extensive location scouting was conducted to identify vantage points and strategic positions for capturing the race's most intense moments.

 

Cinematography:

Led by Director of Photography Anthony Greene, the cinematography team, including Nathan Greene, Sam Adkins, Hunter Way, Braiden Maddox, Taylor Napier, and Kurtis Schachner, utilized a variety of techniques to capture the raw energy and emotion of the ultramarathon.

 

Drone Footage: 

Kurtis Schachner and Nathan Greene provided stunning aerial perspectives, offering viewers a bird's eye view of the breathtaking landscapes and the athletes' epic journey.

 

Editing:

Anthony and Nathan meticulously pieced together the hundreds of hours of footage, weaving together the athletes' personal stories, race highlights, and moments of triumph and struggle into a compelling narrative.

Extensive research was conducted to understand Cleary Energy Group's mission and Andrew's role within the organization. Initial meetings were held to outline the documentary's narrative arc and key talking points.

 

Scripting:

A compelling script was developed, weaving together Andrew's personal anecdotes with his family, and how his career with Clearway intersects with that, creating a positive change on both an individual level but a community level as well.

 

Storyboarding:
